I speak your name with fear,
so that my lips will not burn,
so that I will not betray myself,
so that I will not scorch your name.

I do not speak your name aloud,
lest it suddenly grow cold and tremble.
I keep your name within my heart,
like a precious secret.

I speak your name with emotion;
I do not want the wind to carry it away.
For suddenly, somewhere in the air,
it might gather a trace of your name.

I speak your name with fear,
so that no one will ever know.

My beloved, my soul,
do you ever speak my name?

Beautiful Armenian Eyes

I have seen so many beautiful eyes,
but I cannot get yours out of my mind.

You looked at me just once,
and from that moment,
my heart has known no rest.

There is a dark night within your eyes,
and a hidden fire quietly burning.
I thought I knew what love was
until I saw your captivating gaze.

One moment tender,
one moment proud—
a flame,
a ray of light.

I have seen so many beautiful eyes,
but there are no eyes quite like yours.

Beautiful Armenian eyes,
dark as the night.
Look into them just once,
and you will never forget.

There are mountains in your eyes,
sunshine and a boundless blue sky.
When you smile,
the world becomes spring.

I don’t know what secret you possess,
but my eyes cannot turn away from you.

You look silently into my eyes,
and suddenly,
I forget the entire world.

I don’t need beautiful words
or countless promises.

Just look at me that way,
and I will understand
everything you never say.

There is tenderness in your eyes
and a fire that never fades.

With a single glance,
you steal my senses
and leave my heart burning.

I have loved the way you lived,
The gentle rhythm of your breath,
The evenings filled with your voice,
And the quiet beating of your heart.

I have loved your hands,
Roughened by years of work,
Your weary palms
Marked by the passage of time.

I have loved your smile,
Warmer than the morning sun,
And the light within your eyes
That brightened my darkest days.

I have loved your embrace.
Whenever you held me close,
The darkness disappeared,
And my soul found peace.

I have loved even the silence—
The kind that needed no words.
A single glance from you
Could awaken my heart.

I have loved—quietly, deeply—
And I have no regrets.
Though our paths have changed,
The love within me remains.

Oh, if one day I see you again,
I don’t know what I would say.

Perhaps I’d simply look into your eyes
and remember the days gone by.

Once, you were my love,
my dream, my entire world.

But the years changed us,
and my heart found its own way.

I don’t blame you anymore.
I’ve learned that
love cannot live on words alone.

If I ever see you again,
I will tell you, “I am in love,”

but not with you—

with the one who understood me,
loved me,
and valued me.

You remained in my past,
while he found a place within my heart.

He came when I had fallen silent
and understood the words I could not say.

He never asked me to change.
He simply loved me
exactly as I am.

If you ever ask,
“Do you still love me?”

I will say:

“I love—
but not the one
who left me alone.”
