In my last post I mentioned that India turns 77 on the 15th August. We have grown as a nation. We have become wealthier, much wealthier. The number of BMWs and Mercedes-Benz on the streets have increased, and this is fine. No quarrels, no arguments with that.

We also have an Annual Union Budget. The State Governments also present their budgets.

As part of the exercise, industry is invited to give their views on what they would like to see in the budget, and there is a lot of hectic lobbying that does go on prior to this.

  1. i see what shouldn’t be, nowhere should it be like this in a world where the rich have hidden away more than 20 trillion dollars; i see, too, the wonderful picture of a caring photographer, a man with a conscience. Bless you, Rajiv
